London, a day I will carry with me

Some days stay with you. 27 October in London was one of them.

Taking Nefino’s message around the world is something I have wanted for a long time, and today that dream is coming true. After presenting online with the Antonio Gramsci Society UK and with Onlinevents, in London we brought it to a live audience, at the Whitechapel Think Factory, for Read Think Create: a day organised by Victoria College London with Prof. Neil Pennock and Prof. Francesca Bernardi.

It is a path that goes hand in hand with the Master’s on the P.R.O.C.E.D.O.© Method that I am completing, which will give the Method an even stronger foundation.

Prof. Neil Pennock, who translated the book into English, led the conversation with his questions. We started from the story: why the fable was born, why Nefino’s world is the way it is, who Nefino is and what happens to him. Then we described how the book is divided into its three parts, and from there we arrived at the Method.

The room listened in silence, and people looked at me with eyes full of interest.

At the end came the questions, many and heartfelt. We talked about how to face difficult times, Plato’s cave, observation according to Jung, the seven planets shown on the cards of the book, Gurdjieff’s law of the octave and the enneagram, and how the Method is lived in everyday practice.

When a question comes from experience rather than curiosity, you know the message has landed.

We closed with some practical exercises on Presence. It was there, in practice, that even more curiosity was sparked: many people came up to me afterwards to find out more and to imagine the next steps together.

I came back from London very happy and fulfilled, with new contacts and new ideas. We are already working on workshops, presentations and initiatives in Italy and abroad.

Nefino is a citizen of the world. His message has no borders, and it is ready to go anywhere there is someone willing to look up.

Thank you to Prof. Neil Pennock, who gave Nefino his English voice and was beside me at every moment.

Thank you to Prof. Francesca Bernardi, who, together with Neil and Victoria College London, organised the day with extraordinary energy and care, and who presented her own work, Creative Methodological Disruptions for Disability Studies: Suspending Ableism, Towards a Critical Humanness (Palgrave, 2026).

Thank you to Victoria College London and to the Antonio Gramsci Society UK, which celebrated its tenth anniversary that very day.

Tomorrow at breakfast, pause at the first bite. Notice the taste, the texture, the warmth. In the evening, try to remember it: if you can, it is because you were really there.
